We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our growing Technology team. As SalonInteractive is embarking on the journey to build a strong data engineering capability, this role will play a pivotal part in laying the foundation for scalable data reporting and infrastructure. This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams and external partners to define and create business-critical data reporting tools from scratch, enabling better insights and driving SalonInteractive’s growth.

What you’ll do at SalonInteractive
- Build and manage robust ETL/ELT pipelines, working with tools such as Fivetran, DBT, and Snowflake.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to create data pipelines that align with Business Intelligence (BI) needs, ensuring accurate, scalable reporting.
- Design and develop SQL-based solutions, with deep expertise in DBT to transform data and maintain a highly optimized data warehouse.

- Improve customer experience and engagement working with a Customer Data Platform such as Segment.
- Work with 3rd party solution providers to integrate and align their data with our platform and business requirements.
- Build reporting infrastructure from scratch, solving ambiguous requirements and turning them into data-driven solutions for various stakeholders.
- Ensure data quality, security, and integrity by adhering to best practices and collaborating with technology and product teams.
- Provide technical leadership on data practices, setting standards and sharing knowledge with team members.
- Stay current on industry trends in data engineering and analytics to ensure our tech stack remains modern and competitive.
We’d love to hear from you if you:
- Have 5+ years of hands-on experience as a data engineer or in a related field.
- Are proficient in modern ETL/ELT stacks, especially with tools like Fivetran, DBT, and Snowflake.
- Have expert-level SQL skills and deep experience with DBT transformations.
- Enjoy working with ambiguity, taking high-level business requirements, and building structured, reliable reporting systems from scratch.
- Have experience working with both internal stakeholders and external partners to align data solutions with business goals.
- Understand cloud-native data architectures and modern data warehousing principles.
- Are familiar with data security, governance, and compliance standards.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex data concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
